According to Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Alhaji Abdulahi Dikko, the new charge that took effect in January was for the primary quarter of the year, adding that identical policy can continue within the second quarter.
Here is a breakdown of the new duty on Imported rice:
From $550 (N83,350)
To $699 (N109,740)
Dikko said the benchmark on rice will stay till government decides otherwise, noting that since the new bench mark on rice was released by government, no one had return forward to contest it.
