Oyo State Newspapers – Oyo Workers (public service) threatened to embark on an indefinite strike over the implementation of the new wage.
Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Akin Olajide, revealed that the purported strike by the workers was illegal and unconstitutional.
Olajide in statement said “The attention of the govt. of Oyo State has been drawn to a purported necessitate a strike by a bunch unknown to law and government. The State government desires to state that such a decision is illegitimate and irresponsible. Government calls on all employees within the employment of the state to be law-abiding by reporting for work today, Monday, March 19, 2012. The Government also states that any employee that abstains from work on the order of the unknown cluster will do so at the chance of his/her career.”
