Jonathan, Sack IG over Security – Bishop Peter Adebiyi
Bishop Peter Adebiyi of the Anglican Diocese, Lagos West has called on the President to sack the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Hafiz Ringim.
Bishop Rt. Rev Peter Adebiyi said “ in order to meet the country’s current security challenges and restore the confidence of the people in his government” President Goodluck Jonathan must and should sack the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Hafiz Ringim.
The cleric said it had become apparent that the Police under Ringim could no longer be trusted to adequately protect Nigerians.
Nigeria Newspapers also learnt thet the former Chairman, Ilorin Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Salmon Jawando stated that “the President must relieve Ringim of his appointment to demonstrate his political will to sanitize the security system”
