Police, Labour clash in Enugu
Labour members, Enugu on Wednesday, clashed with the police at the entrance of the state secretariat, Nigeria Labour Congress.
The labour activists attempted to take off from the premises of the NLC state secretariat but were prevented from leaving the Secretariat by approximately 60 Mobile Policemen.
It could also re recalled that Monday, Governor Sullivan Chime refused any form of Fuel Subsidy removal protest in the State.
Chairman, NLC, Enugu Chapter, Mr. Chukwumaife Nze expressed regrets over the action of the police stating that “since last Monday, the police have prevented us joining other Nigerians to say no to the removal of fuel subsidy, despite our assurance that the protest would be peaceful”
So far, Nigeria Newspapers Team learnt that Ebonyi State (Enugu’s Neighboring State) remains calm.
