Coach in court for death of girlfriend after herbal bath

46-year-old soccer coach, Emmanuel Temuru, was Friday brought before a Yaba Magistrates’ Court for allegedly killing her girlfriend.
The accused was charged for allegedly inflicting the death of Miss Margaret Usen, 35, however his plea wasn’t taken as he was remanded in jail custody, pending a recommendation from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Philip Ugbodu, prosecutor Inspector told the court that the accused, who resides at five Olupitan St., Idimu Lagos on February thirteen (6.30 p.m.) the accused, who had allegedly impregnated the deceased ( Margaret Usen), travelled together with her to Abeokuta when she developed some health complications.

She was taken to a Clinic/Maternity Hospital in Abeokuta, where she was given some herbs to drink and conjointly bath with; According to reports, She died hours after the herbal treatment.

The offence is contrary to section 319 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
