Bayelsa State News
Bayelsa News – The Peoples Democratic Party has suspended its Yenogoa governorship rally in Bayelsa State, scheduled for today Monday.
This was disclosed in a statement by the party via the National Publicity Secretary, Prof. Rufai Alkali, that the action was taken because of the multiple bomb blasts that took place in both Kano and Bayelsa states.
Alkali said, “The PDP National Campaign Committee for the 2012 Governorship Election in Bayelsa State under the Chairmanship of His Excellency the Vice President Namadi Sambo wishes to announce the suspension of the Grand Campaign Rally originally planned to take place at Yenogoa, Bayelsa State on Monday January 23, 2012.
“This is in view of the sad events that took place in Kano on Friday, January 20, 2012, during which many lives were lost and several properties destroyed. A new date will be announced later.”
